Stays on your Mac

• The peripherals you chose to manage, in Baton's Application Support folder.
• Your pairing code, as an encryption key, in your login keychain.
• Your licence key and when it was last checked, also in the keychain.

Between your Macs

Device names and Bluetooth addresses, and which Mac currently holds what. It travels directly between your Macs, encrypted with your pairing code. A Mac with a different code cannot connect at all.

Baton connects and disconnects Bluetooth devices. It never reads keystrokes or pointer movement.

Leaves your network

One thing: your licence key, sent to activate it and then rechecked about once a day, along with your Mac's name so you can recognise it. During the trial Baton makes no outside connections at all.

Payments

Polar processes purchases as merchant of record and sends your key. Baton never sees your card details.

Removing it

Delete the app. For the stored key and licence, delete the com.eam.baton.psk items in Keychain Access and the Baton folder in ~/Library/Application Support.
